I am an Osteopathic Physician.   I received my medical degree from Michigan State University.  I did my residency at the Ohio State University.   The "DO" is a medical degree that stands for Doctor of Osteopathy.    Osteopathy is defined as a system of medicine based on the theory that the systems of the body are closely interconnected. Osteopathic doctors are all trained in the United States by fully accredited medical schools and residencies.   Osteopathic family doctors are trained in all aspects of modern medical practice.
